Realization of an industrial-innovative business campus in Berlin-Spandau
Characterized by its history as the site of the Osram glass factory, the LUXWERK site is being transformed into a contemporary and modern innovation campus by the investment company Aventos. David Chipperfield Architect’s master plan for the site envisages that the new industrial architecture will take up the characteristics of the listed existing buildings and thus preserve the history of the complex. At the same time, the construction of new buildings and a 55-meter high-rise, designed by Eike Becker_Architekten, is planned. Material consumption will be significantly reduced by new sustainable methods. Commercial space for research, development, production and administration will be created on 90,000 m².
