Celebrating tradition: The topping-out ceremony on the Bötzow site

This week, our BAL project team celebrated together with many construction participants a remarkable milestone: The topping-out ceremony of buildings 8 and 9 of the Bötzow Brewery.

The completion of the two new shell buildings already paints a clear picture of the multifaceted site being developed in the middle of Berlin by David Chipperfield Architects and client Professor Hans Georg Näder.

A monument preservation and new construction merge here into a progressive, lively architectural concept for living and working space.

Even Berlin’s Mayor, Kai Wegner did not miss the festivities and emphasized in his speech: “The Bötzow Areal is an impressive example of modern urban development.”

We can only agree with that. And, following the topping-out ceremony, we say: Cheers!
