Successfull completion of a residential and commercial building
Sometimes the successful completion of an urban development project means that the familiar surroundings feel different. If things go well, you quickly get used to the changes. In the best case, you feel more comfortable than before. In Berlin, a city that never seems to settle down, an amazing piece of urban quarter has developed in recent years. Along Heidestrasse to the north of the Hauptbahnhof and at the intersection of the districts of Moabit, Mitte and Wedding on an area of 61 hectares is the Euopacity megaproject comprising four planning areas, which invites life, art and culture and entrepreneurial innovation to settle here. One of the planning areas is the six-part Quartier Heidestrasse project developed by client representative Taurecon Real Estate Consulting. We were able to supervise one of these six sub-areas in the management phases 6-8: QH CROWN South. The residential and commercial building designed by gmp Architekten bears its name for good reason. Together with Crown North, which is still at the planning stage, it forms the crowning glory of the subdistrict. Located just a hundred meters from the idyllic Nordhafen, it is both visually and technically impressive. The design of the inner courtyard is invitingly abstract, the brass and bronze railings in contrasting colours create special highlights, the floor-to-ceiling windows ensure bright apartments, and a digitalized living environment improves the quality of life and work for people. As the interface between the client, logistics, architects and general contractor, the BAL team made it their mission from the outset: “We just do it”. And that’s exactly what we did.
