C1 CENTRAL ONE / The Midtown Offices: much more than just an office
In times when working from home is a serious alternative to the traditional office workplace, employees have developed new demands. This raises many questions for planning architects. How should the office environments of the future be designed? What incentives can be created through appropriate spaces?
C1 CENTRAL ONE / The Midtown Offices, located at the foot of the television tower, offers a possible preview of what the workspaces of tomorrow could look like. In close collaboration with Faber+Faber Architekten and the interior design team from Ester Bruzkus Architekten, client Gregor Marweld has created an inspiring working environment with C1 CENTRAL ONE / The Midtown Offices at Alexanderplatz in Berlin.
BAL has been involved in project management since November 2019, as well as in LP6 for the tendering of the building construction trades.
The challenge of bringing together the individual specialist planners and acting as a professional interface between the architects and the client was a success. BAL project manager Frank Spielmann, who is responsible for project management, reports enthusiastically about the construction project during a tour of the site. It is a great project in a great location with numerous special features. The building app, which can be used to control and read functions such as lighting, heating, cooling technology and energy consumption, is just one of many smart features.
The first tenants moved in as early as December. A special highlight: the working environment does not end on the office floor, as the areas on the basement and ground floor with their own cinema, meeting spaces, gym and lobby are part of the rental space.
A dynamic limestone façade with sculpturally offset floors, a modern, digital environment, high-quality materials and an inviting atmospheric color concept complete the holistic design.
“After spending the whole day solving problems, it feels really nice for a change to pause just before the end of the project and realize: yes, we did a good job together,” says Spielmann.
